What is the difference between knowing what you want in a girl and being so narrow minded over choosing girls that you pass up someone who doesn't fit exactly everything that is on your list of requirements?

The difference is being normal and knowing what you want and being full of yourself, there's such a slim chance of you finding anyone that meets all of your requirements and there is nothing wrong with having standards and likes and dislikes either but you can't blow someone off because they don't fit up to your hopes exactly because everyone has fllaws and no one is perfect everyone has a vice.

The difference in knowing what you want and being very narrow minded as you said, is how honest you are being with yourself. That means, if you know what you want, go over each bit of criteria you think a girl should have and ask yourself if it is even remotely close to being realistic or not. Like if you like a girl with large breasts, blonde hair and blue eyes, that is honest. But if you do meet a chick like that you have to be realistic enough in expecting her to not always be the smartest cookie in the jar. Or if you like brunettes with long, curvy legs and a nice butt. Again that is honest, but don't expect her to share your love of sports and nachos. That is realistic. Oh and another key difference between narrow mindedness and knowing what you want is the at least creed. Many people may not know what this is but I'll tell you. The at least creed is pretty much when, you find someone to date and though they aren't the most sexiest swim suit model type they at least have a job, and get your corny jokes. Or maybe they are shorter than your dream girl and have crazy taste in musice or something but at least they aren't looking at your body and noticing that you have packed on several pounds since football season started. So those two are the top ways anyone can tell the difference.

P.S. Though, a bit of a third way to tell the difference, is if you are flexible enough in accepting all types of people as friends. Usually what type of people you let into your inner circle tells you what type of person you are. If you only let in people with a certain look or style, then you know you are too narrow minded. But if you are flexible enough to let in boring bob from accounting or even overly talkative Chad from sales or something, that will show that you are a very flexible person and you are able to accept other for who they are and yourself as well. So don't forget the key differences and overall just look at dating any new girl as an adventure and learning more about yourself and her. Everything should be fine after that.

The same difference as between choosing a station wagon and choosing a sports car.

The latter requires extra time, money, effort, and work in order to get, but in the end most people would think it's worth it.

The difference is on one hand you end up with the girl you want and the other you end up bitter and alone.
