There's this girl I know at work that used to be really bitter, moody and quiet, but I opened her up by joking around with her and being friendly. She's just not a person I would get along with, or am attracted to, but she has mistaken it for flirting. She wants to date me, but I don't like her. What do I do?

She had this really pathetic conversation with me today. I feel bad, but she's just not my type.

Tell them that you do not like them that way and that you are just rying to be a nice person. By not telling them straight up from the beginning you can appear as a bad guy because you can portray yourself as leading them on. Tell them the truth and this and many other problems that come with lying will not happen. As I always like to say...... keep it real and keep it true.

I have had this happen on more than one occasion because I am a very friendly person and always trying to help those in need.

Be upfront and honest with her in a kind way. Tell her you just want to be a friend at work but no more. Honesty is really the best policy. Kind words are always OK.

Okay, you call this kindness?

Tell her how you feel, and that she is really sweet and nice but you don't want to date workmates and it would just end up in awkwardness.

And then re-read what you just wrote. Pathetic? That's not kind. That's malicious and condescending.

Alternatively, have a HUGE psycho breakdown about how messed up you are and your life and some imaginary girl who you lost three years ago and can't let go of. She'll go right off you and look for someone who's not clingy and neurotic. lol

If you are attractive... of course guys are interested in you from the moment they see you... so if you show even a little bit of interest back by "being friendly" that is all most guys need to think they might have a chance with you. So to answer you question... YES! Kindness is often mistaken as Flirting.

1. You could be rude and tell her you don't like her.

2. You could lie and say you have a girlfriend.

3. Tell her (nicely) about the girl you are attracted to and see if she takes a hint.

I always use the third one.

Be flattered! i mean she wants to date you because she thinks you're friendly! i mean if you feel that she thinks you're flirting then tell her something like "I just dont think of you as that way because all I see is a great friend" be honest. it'll hurt but just tell her. If she still wants to date you then give her one chance i mean it's worth a shot right?

Allot of people take kindness as flirting or that u like them! Just be honest that u don't want anything more than friendship and leave it at that!

Just tell her that you think that she is great, but that you already have a love interest right now. Then start gradually start avoiding heavy conversations. Just keep excusing yourself when she is talking. "Excuse me, but I have some work to do, or a meeting to go to."

I hate it when that happens. Dont be rude to her, but tell her nicely that you like her as a person. tell her that you like someone else or something. That should get her off your back.

Try to get her together with someone else. Even if it doesn't work out, at least she will know you are not interested.
