When I got dentures, recently, I chose porcelian and asked if I could get them pearly white (like all the posters hanging up in the dental office). I mean if you have to have dentures why not really pretty white ones. When I got mine though they look just like a nondescript color, not white and not yellow. I had a big beautiful smile and bc of several conditions going on with these teeth I'm having a difficult time with adjusting to them. I think dentures for me was the best choice but these aren't pretty in the slightest. They don't look like my original teeth at all and aren't even as white as mine were. I'm so discouraged. It's been like a nightmare. I own my own business and have to converse with my clients and it is so obvious I have dentures that are big, loose and not attractive in the slightest. Is this the way it is with all dentures? I'm considering implants but would rather give the entire situation a break for a while. I feel so defeated with this matter.

Yes, you can get good fitting, white dentures. Try researching a new dentist or two, call, explain your previous situation, and go from there.
Actually if your dentist is a very good one, where you had your dentures made, you need to go back, tell them your teeth are not white, as you requested, and are not fitting right either.
There is a time frame with a dentist to get those dentures looking and fitting properly.
Usually they (before making your dentures) hold mock teeth up to you, to match your natural tooth color, if you have no teeth, they show you a color guide so you can choose what color or shade you want.
The "fit", it takes time, sometimes you have to keep going back for a while, and that is usually included in your initial bill.
If theses things for whatever reason are not happening maybe you should call them back.
hope you are able to resolve your situation in a way that will make you happy.

It is possible to get bright white denture teeth but they typically end up looking very unnatural. The quality of the dentures depends on where you went to get them. Dentures take a while to get used to and you have to give yourself at least a month to accustom yourself to talking, eating, and generally wearing them. They are difficult at first. Implants work really well. They are stable and greatly improve the function of the dentures. On top of that they help preserve the bone that is left in your mouth, which is really important to have in order to get dentures to stay in and fit well. Think about why they specifically don't look 'real.' It's probably not the color, because most people's teeth aren't bright white. Is it the size of the teeth? The position of the teeth? Do you see too much of some teeth that you never saw before when you smiled and had natural teeth? I would say 95% of people who ask for white white denture teeth regret it, those do not look real. Teeth are not white, they are somewhere between white and yellow. Don't get discouraged though, the only way you will be happy with your dentures is if you choose to work with them and try hard to get them to work for you- this requires some muscle training.

YOU CAN HAVE FALSE TEETH AS WHITE AS A PIECE OF CLEAN PAPER BUT,THESE WILL THEN APPEAR FAKE AND EVERYONE WHO SEES YOU SMILE WILL KNOW YOU'RE WEARING DENTURES.
YOU REALLY NEED TO BRING YOUR NEEDS AND DESIRES TO A PROSTHDONTIST WHO'LL MAKE YOU A PROPER SET OF DENTURES OF THE CORRECT SIZE, SHAPE AND TOOTH COLOR.
YOU MAY ALSO DISCUSS IMPLANT-RETAINED DENTURES WHICH ARE MUCH MORE SECURE THAN STANDARD DENTURES AND ARE NOT AS COSTLY AS CONPLETE IMPLANT BRIDGEWORK. FIND OUT ALL YOUR OPTIONS FOR THIS.

Real teeth. You can whiten them. Dentures are a bit creepy.

the only problem when getting the teeth of your dentures that white is they look fake and you dont want that. as for the posters in the dental office..... they have been touched up. i work for a dentist and we all bleach our teeth and they never get that white. its not a natural color.

do you want people to know you are wearing dentures? The dentist will be the best judge to know color or shade will suit you. Usally the white of the eye is compared.

Real teeth with a hint of yellow. Healthy teeth are meant to be yellow,, it's the calcium.
