I've found that regular sit-ups can actually make your stomach more bulky rather than flat and toned; reason being, when you do them, you are only working your abs from one angle, and those muscles will bulk up.
-Try toning by doing crunches that work the obliques (love-handles), which will also tone the abs: Hands lightly behind your head, meet your elbow to your opposite knee and switch sides as you do the crunch, and try doing them pilates style with your legs doing the scissor kick extension as you alternate knees.
-Good ole' push ups while tightening your tummy
-Practice getting in the habit of holding your stomach tight as you walk and sit. I've done this for so long now, I can't really relax my tummy when I walk, and I SWEAR it's helped keep my abs tighter. The only time it relaxes is when I sleep!!

good luck :-)

Hey, if you have an exercise ball (the huge ones you can sit on), there are so many you can do that aren't as difficult and boring as crunches but work soo much better. I'll send you a link to some of them. The ball workouts are so easy and effective because they work your entire midsection, whereas crunches only use a part of your abs. Good luck!

Hi,

As far as I know the things like good posture all the time with straight back, tummy tucked in and stuff helps. Plus ladies who take up belly dancing have wonderfully toned tummies. Also when you make love with your man, you do the heavy stuff and you use a lot of your abdomen muscles. It is pleasureable and you get toned too.

Good luck.

Cheers

Lisa

Try to keep your stomache tucked in all day not too much where it hard to breathe obviously. Also you can do ab exercises laying on your back and lifting your legs in the are and holding them or doing bicycle kicks in the air.

Yoga, i know crazy! but it works.... and then there is the hold your feet at 6" then like up and down and have one leg up and one leg down, switch, but make sure you hold it for at least 30 seconds, then hold it for longer as you go farther in training...hope that helps

Side bends are good, and stand up torso twists.
