I was basically on a liquid/soft mushy food diet for 2 weeks after my wisdom teeth were extracted. And the first couple of days I slept for the most part. The rest of the time I was at home, I watched TV, played on my computer a bit...
Just take it easy, follow your doctor/dentist's aftercare instructions, and get plenty of rest the first few days.

I didn't eat for 3-4 days, except for milk shakes. The best thing about it is that you're too doped up to notice! My surgeon gave me a lot of pain pills.. so that I could easily sleep it off.
Things to pass time: sleep. My friends also visited me a lot while I was recovering-but I don't remember it too well.

HELLO,
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO IS TO PREVENT THE BLOOD CLOTS FROM BEING LOST TOO EARLY THEREBY CAUSING DRY SOCKETS.
BE SURE TO CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS YOU GET FROM THE DOCTOR.
THE FIRST 24 HOURS USE ICE PACKS 20 MIN ON 20 OFF TO KEEP THE SWELLING DOWN TO A MINIMUM. TAKE ADVIL 2-3 TABLETS EVERY 4-6 HOURS TO ALSO HELP WITH THE PAIN AND SWELLING.
