My inlaws have actually tried splitting hubby and I up. He disowned one sibling years ago until that one agreed to stay out of our business. He now has disowned another one. And my wonderful mother in law has made life hell since day one. It's painful because my family is close and I would really like to be close with his but they stab us in the back every time. If I went into detail here about it you would literally think I was retelling some horrible made for tv movie. It's a nightmare. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of moving away when he retires. Far far very far away.
EDIT:
I should mention my FIL is so sweet and awesome. However, he left the family and moved away and doesn't have a thing to do with any of them except hubby and one of his siblings. Though he only 'tolerates' the other sibling because that one is as messed up as the ones he tried to run away from. It's actually quite sad to me the way all of his family have each disowned some other family member.

My husband's family is from another planet. They make me crazy and I'm always amazed that my husband comes from that family. His siblings are some of the strangest people I've ever met. On holidays I just smile sweetly and try not to roll my eyes when one of them comes out with some outrageous political or religious statement. Then I laugh all the way home about how bizarre they are.

My father in law is great. He is divorced from my mother in law because she is a mean, two faced, abusive, lies endlessly, self centered, phony piece of dirt. My sister in law is catching up to her fast.
Thank god that my husband is more like his Dad.

My mother in law is so sweet, nice, and generous. She'd give you her last dollar if you needed it. My father in law is a drunk, and only comes around when he's sick. His wife is no better.

I swear my MIL is godzilla! She denies that my daughter is my husband's baby and SHE paid for DNA test results. When she asked I said, let's go I got nothing to hide. To a 99.9999989....% she's his! She still tells everyone that she's not......talk about $*#&&$%*$*#&!

i adsolutly hate my inlaws!!!! expecially my sister in law, shes a *****. and my grandma inlaw is the devil!

if you love your husband and he loves you the in laws will come around and stop being so mean and nasty to you so give them a little more time just keep your wit and don't let them bring you down
