I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow.... should i be nervous?
is it going to hurt seriously bad?
if you had to compare it to another pain, which pain would it be?
I have had over 10 reconstructive and orthopedic surgeries in the past 3 years and i haven't been this nervous! I guess because this one is on my face and in my mouth! idk

the reconstructive surgery was on my knee and nerves in my knee... i had gotten into a really bad wreck!and in the wreck my knee was sliced opend and the tendon that makes your left bend (akillees is how it's pronounced) was completely sliced in half so that got sewn back together. and the ortho surgery was becausei broke bother femurs in the wreck so they had to hollow out those bones and out steel rods inside the bone...
so please don tthink that this is plastic surgery to make me look better... all of the surgeries was because i needed them for dancing because i have been dancing since i was 2 and i wasn't goig to lose my passion because of a wreck

don't worry! it will be fine. if your teeth are impacted, i would highly recommend asking for general anesthesia. it hurts a little after getting them pulled, but your dentist will give you pain meds...just keep taking them and you will be fine. i've had two wis. teeth pulled under local and two under general...general is waaaaaaaaay better...esp cause mine were impacted. good luck! get some sleep...don't worry...if you've gone through ortho surgeries, this is nothing.

hi,
i am a doctor.
there is no reason for you to worry.
this would be something not very big at all.
if you have gone through bigger previous sugeries, this would be lot simpler that those.
here too they give excellent pain killers so that you feel only minimal pain
what you can do now is to forget about this whole thing and get relaxed a bit.
i know it is hard.
but then again if you are worried, it would make you more and more anxious . so in the end you would experience the pain much more, simply due to this anxious mental state.
now think of your happy times in life.
watch a movie or cartoon that makes you laugh.
talk with a fried or family member and laugh a bit.
that woudl make you happier..
and in the end would make you less painful..
son't worry you should be fine..

Really isn't all that bad! I had mine pulled when I was 17. There is a lot of pressure when they pull them but no pain. I was sore for a few days but they give pain killers if you need them. As far as comparing it to another pain I would say a bad sprain at worst but deeper and in the jaw.
Good for you not wanting to lose what your passionate about! That is an admirable characteristic in some one who's been through a lot! God Bless!

With the proper anesthetics you shouldn't feel any pain during the procedure. You will be aware of the pressure on your gum when the dentist cuts into it, but it shouldn't hurt. The pain and discomfort you feel will come a few hours after the procedure. It may feel like you have a throbbing headache in your jaw. Listen to your doctor and follow his or her instructions. Doing so will help to limit the swelling and should allow you to heal without any difficulty. Your gum will be tender for quite a while, so take it easy.

Actually having them pulled is easier than when you have them cut out, so you're lucky there. The actual pain you'll have afterwards is from the way your mouth is stretched while they extract them. So it is very tolerable, and they will give you medication to help. It's not such a bad procedure. Just follow their intructions and you will be goood to go very quickly. Relax, that is the best thing you can do. Feel better quickly, best of luck to ya!

Follow the instructions for follow-up care. You will probably be asked to eat a very soft diet and have special mouth care instructions. Do all of that. Proper care will minimize any discomfort. If you are generally healthy and eat soft foods, this would be very minimal pain.
Good luck.

Oh, How Funny! You will never know what hit you. They scheduled my wisdom teeth two at a time. I said, "fine, but if you hurt me, you will never see me again." They were cutting them out...................
I had to be dragged, but I showed up. They got me ready, told me to pick out what music I wanted to listen to & the next thing I knew I woke up laying on a cot in another room........
NOTHING to it..................Go For it..................I returned the next week on my own & they did the last two.........Piece of Cake.
