hi i would like to paint an acrylic painting, approx 20"X24"
should i use an archival canvas panel or stretched canvas?
i want it to look pro, and i want it to last. i also want protection.
what're the cons of archival canvas panels??
if i use stretched canvas i probably won't frame it (how do you even frame it?)
thanks

Painting on canvas is deemed more professional. Usually the panels are used for studies. The protection is pretty much equal but when something happens to it you can repair a canvas a panel is much harder if not impossible to fix.

In the long run canvas is more durable and personally I like painting on canva better. It just feels right.

On framing:
I go to the 'frame shop' and pick out what I want for my painting and they make it. But usually (like you) I don't feel the need for a frame.

you can buy pre - stretched canvas for $10-20 depending on size. You will want to treat the canvas. this will depend on the kind of paint you use. Just go into hobby lobby or an art supply store and tell them what you have planed and they will recommend the right supplies and you can get in and out for less than $25
