A protein shake before bed is fine, a good thing actually. Eating proteins and fats before bedtime (in moderation of course) actually helps the body produce more GH, a powerful fat burning hormone, and staves off catabolism. People who say you can't eat after "x" time of night have no real knowledge of nutrition or human physiology and it's not supported by science.

You do have to be careful about the food choices you make at night, though. Stay away from carbs, especially processed carbs, and try not to go over your daily caloric intake needs. If you do go over then you need to rethink your daily diet anyway.

By not eating at night you're essentially extending the fast before sleep, putting the body into a catabolic state and reducing GH production for an even longer period of time.

The best protein shake for bedtime would be something like casein or a blended protein, whey isn't really the best choice tho' it's definitely better than nothing. Cottage cheese, plain yogurt, natural peanut butter, etc. are examples of good things to have before bed.

he metabolic powers certain foods have to make your body burn more body fat.” It is a way of rating foods, primarily based on “how a lot of calories your body is going to burn just breaking down the nutrients every single time you consume a particular food.”
Therefore, you are not alone in this battle.

It isn't good to eat or drink in general before bed because your body cannot digest it very well. I have done that before, and it was not good. I drank a lot before I went to bed. I had to wake up a few times in the night to go to the bathroom. I advise to not eat for at least 2 hrs. before you go to bed.

Yes so you won't go hungry while sleep and your body won't use your muscle for energy.
