I want to know if I should use the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Ubuntu and why. Is one faster and more efficient? My computer is an Intel e6600, nvidia 8800 gts 640 overclocked, 4 gb ddr2 800, asus p5n-e sli. I have plenty of disk space as well. Is there anything else I should know about Ubuntu in general? Thanks in advance.

Nvidia makes drivers for both as well.

64-bit is slightly easier to set up initially. Flash doesn't always work right in the 64-bit version, and if you use Opera, you will have to use a beta version of their browser, since they have not released a final 64-bit version.

64-bit did feel faster when I first set it up, but I've since burdened the operating system with so many programs, and I don't actually have enough RAM to bother using 64-bit. I do not know if NVIDIA makes 64-bit compatible drivers for their video cards or not.

Anyway, most programs are available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so you won't be depriving yourself of anything. I just think 32-bit is easier to set up initially, so you should use it until you get a feel for it.

Well you'll need 64 bit to recognize that 4 GB of RAM

If you didn't have over 3.3 GB of RAM, I'd recommend 32 bit

It depends completely on what computer processor you have. If you don't know, you're probably using 32bit.
