GRRR, i have it ticked in the windows xp firewall exceptions but it still wont connect. Ive tried everything!! yes im connected. I could connect prior to this problem. I have AVG, SpyBot and AdaWare. but i doubt thats the problem....I JUST WANT IT TO FREAKIN CONNECT!!!

I second the news that Limewire has been having server problems lately. Go here and browse around for possible solutions: http://www.limewire.org/forum/ You know, if things aren't working, try deleting and reinstalling the program.
I also second the suggestion that you turn off your firewall temporarily. If you're going to use such software as Limewire, you might as well go nuts and knock down the firewall, at least until you get connected. I have been known to leave mine off for extended periods of time--I do use spyware and virus solutions however--and I've never had a problem.

limewire is having freaking server problems. have u tried freaking turning off ur freakin firewall and then turning it back on when limewire connects? good freakin luck!

Probably not any of those things; it's probably the NAT protection on your router (if you have one). Your remote IP is different than your local IP (which is usually 192.168.1.xxx) so you need to set port forwarding on your router for the particular TCP and UDP ports that limewire is using.
