Dear Muthu
In theory India is secular, but what is the ground reality ? Sonia is blatantly anti Hindu & pro Christian. Her Govt bends backwards
to appease Muslims/ Christians .Only the 84% Hindus, who have no Godfather, must languish in fear & penury .
As for the S/C S/T reservations , Dr Ambedkar , while framing our constitution, had envisaged these reservations only for 15 years i e upto 1965 .But their votebank prevents any Govt from discontinuing them even in 2007. Even forward castes R now clamoring to be included in the OBC list. What a shame !
The Constitution bars any reservations on the basis of Religion. Poor muslims & poor Christians, falling in the SC or SC lists do get reservations like their Hindu brethern.
The only class left out in the lurch are the socalled High Caste Hindus.God only may be looking after them.
Clear now ?

I dont think reservation is necessary if u r a secular country as no reservation is given to hindus,It should be totaslly on merit bais if u want to develop u r country and if u want that every institution u should have nice and educated persons as reservations for poor or other community means the standard of education will not be given preference just the cast and religion which will make the country weak. And hece it should totally be on merrit basis

Why do we have reservation at all even after so many years of Independence?
Why not have each person be from whatever caste, region, religion,Economic strata of society able to get a level playing education field .
Why not have schools and Teachers and Roads,Electricity in remotest parts of India .
If these happen ;no one shall ask for reservations .

Muthu are you trying to instigate? I am terribly disappointed in you. I had to take you off my circle.

There should be no quota period.
Can you imagine we had 2 Muslim Presidents, various high ranking official who are from minority community. If we had quota based on population none of this would have happened.
Show me any other country were this is possible.
Will you have a Muslim mullah, will there ever be a women Muslim head of state in Saudi Arabia (oh they cant vote yet).
Will there be a minority with real power in a Muslim country.
The so called Muslim on this board are Paki. A true Muslim knows how good India is to all.

unfavourable human beings are all alike. this is the attention of a new child-kisser which seems in any different case in diverse angles. The reservation coverage, from truly some the viewpoints became stunning, (pardon, i'm no longer one among beneficiaries). even nevertheless it became formulated and applied wrongly. Now we can see that a dalit kinfolk even upon getting reservation advantages by 3 or 4 generations is returned a dalit. now the different dalit kinfolk that's disadvantaged of the benifits for that plenty era will could compete with the 1st variety of dalit. that may no longer justified. the main clarification for reservation interior the techniques of shape makers became a ethical develop and to instruct the society against forged branch. My factor is that if a individual isn't unfavourable, he could be considered non-dalit. nevertheless the opposite won't be actual (each unfavourable won't be considered as dalit). Even the son of a crorepati would be unfavourable by financial ruin, and no rely if it fairly is his fault, easily this is not any longer the fault of grandson who will inherit the poverty. And to formulate and enforce a reservation coverage for unfavourable human beings is in basic terms next to impossible. what's mandatory, is a stable coverage for unfavourable people who will make certain loose preparation as much as a undeniable point, a suited Public Distribution equipment, stating the families having no potential of earnings, encouraging small scale entrepreneurship and so on. the government could take effective steps to terminate the twin preparation equipment which makes it much extra problematical for the unfavourable scholars to compete. And if a coverage has been proved futile in final 60 years, it is going to stay so in destiny 600 years. determination is mandatory for reforms to take place. And as a final factor :- The reservation of any variety will benefit the worried human beings purely in government jobs. and that's making a small %age of human beings. much extra human beings are engaged in agriculture and small companies and retail shops and so on. and additionally you are able to't tension that a %age of finished shops could belong to Tribes and yet another to Casts and Poors. Out of 1000 human beings, you delivers interest to 4 STs, 12 SCs, 12 OBCs and 22 Brahmins. yet what's going to take place to kick back 950 in case you have no longer have been given a single interest for them in any type.

There should be reservation to all people irrespective of caste and religion if they are deserving and belog to the lower starta of the society.
Better than providing reservation is having a general quota for all and govt sponsor for the deserving who cannot afford it.
Reservation should go and merit should overtake it.

I'm sorry, India is very religious, mostly Hindu. Albeit, of late more and more american style faith in $, consumerism and consumption is becoming very popular..... We lived there a while, I found much tolerance among all religions - at least in the larger cities.... recognition of all holy days for each religion, etc... I'm not sure what your question is asking, however.

Dear Muthu Madam,

Who said Muslims and Christians are poor here in India ? Officially and for the Politician they are in minority. It is not correct they have reservations in every education, jobs etc. In my opinion on date in India only Bhramins (Prohits, Temple Priests) are the minority and they are only poor and need Reservation. But no political party will help them, as they are only after the vote banks of Muslims and Christians. -
