Most Christians just assume it's true because they've heard it's true and usually their parents say it's true. The truth is, you have no way of knowing if something that was written over 2,000 years ago is truly the word of God, or if it was manipulated by humans to fit their political agendas.

It depends which part of the Bible you mean. There is not a shred of historical evidence that Jesus Christ ever existed and the gospels are pure faith-based myth and are to be interpreted as allegory rather than actual happenings. Events such as the Virgin Birth, the Resurrection and Assumption are carry overs from earlier faiths predating both Judaism and Christianity as far back as ancient Egypt where they are apparent on temple inscriptions.
Some of the events in the Old Testament are historically verifiable such as the siege of Jerusalem and almost certainly the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah but they did not happen as described in the Bible and for the reasons and by the means claimed..

I don't regret for one minute reading the bible and making decisions about my own morality from the parables and stories that come from that bible. It is the simplest form of philosophy to teach children right and wrong.
If one takes the bible as I do, as a very interesting collection of stories with the same intent as the Illiad by Homer: To write down history as seen by the authors, who added their own fancy thoughts to make it more interesting, just as today an author may take known facts about some events and add particulars in order to make a novel out of it.
Take it as you see fit!

The Holy Spirit has directed every letter of God's Holy Word. When man tried to think on their own, the Holy Spirit used others to change it to God's Word. Now in the last of the last days, we can be sure it is perfect.
It has always been inerrant in the original author. It was hard for man to translate, but with the help of God the Holy Spirit it has come down through the ages to be the completed work we have today.

I'm not Pagan, and my name isn't Dan. I live in Taiwan, and "pagan dan' is "bacon and eggs" in Chinese. It amuses me to have a pen name. In fact, I'm Christian.
Nobody knows, in that there is no physical or other evidence that would convince a judge. You can neither prove nor disprove that the Bible is the Word of God. People believe, or not. I made my choice.

When a person accepts Jesus as Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live within the person saved. That Holy Spirit witnesses to the person as to what is true and what is not true.
He witnesses to the truth of the Bible.

Common sense tells us it's not. I mean it makes the claim that epilepsy is caused by Demonic possesion. We all know that this is not true, but it was a common misconception thousands of years ago. We know better now.
