For your info Maverick--i am complaining about employees being treated rude and nasty --thats it-i have not used a sick day is over 2 yrs, and have went to work when i have felt bad-but people come in infecting everyone else because they are afraid to call off because she acts so bitchy about it-we do get sick days at our job and actually it states in the contract that any one ill should stay at home-so if you do not know the whole situation do not call people lazy--we do not have to lie and say we are sick to get a day off we have personal nessecity ,days we can use for that-

Wow... I am always of the mind, if you're sick stay home! When I come into work I don't want to worry about getting sick too, you know? Work will always be there whether you are home or not...it's never done.

She doesn't have the right to treat people like that. Could be the expectations of the company though... I know a place I used to work was like that so the boss was just enforcing the "unwritten rule of law." I was a horrible environment so I ended up leaving...

Just because she comes in sick and works (then makes you sick and everyone else) doesn't mean you have to. What are sick days for then?

If there is a policy that you have a certain number of sick days, there you go.
There are studies & stats about the waste of human resources caused by people who won't stay home when they are contagious, your boss is stupid so you should look up some info & present it.
Stay home sick = one worker out for a day or so
Come to work sick = one worker out for a week if the illness gets nasty + all the people out that you infected by coming in.

I don't think anyone has an obligation to take sick days simply to use them up! But if you are sick, you can have a doctor certify you as ill, so you don't have an issue when you return.

My manager was such a coward that he asked others to ring me if they had a problem. I've come in to work when I had 'flu' and it was snowing. So what? I'm not a manager. It can be done. I wasn't lectured - no one else knew how to do my job, so I came in and I did it. I'm not sure I knew what I was doing when I called a taxi and arrived. but it seems I did an OK job. Your manager sounds like she has the guts to make decisions. My manager didn't know whether we should get any overtime, or when. If we worked thru' lunch, he agreed that we could request lunch vouchers. But he had no idea who we should ask, or email. By the way, when someone is sick, do you have to challenge them to work for you when you are off? Because my useless manager would say helplessly "Can you sort it out among yourselves?" I was fed up of taking calls from him or others on holidays, which cost me money to take, because he allowed six of us to go on vacation on overlapping weeks. Have you thought about what
your manager does, as well as what she might ask you not to do? Seriously?

If being sick is not acceptable to you, your problem is simple. Come into work, and talk to your boss about how bad you feel, and how much worse you would feel if you let everyone down. Your boss will catch your illness. Especially if you sneeze into her coffee. If you are too ill to stagger into work, write a letter, lick the stamp, and write "For the personal attention Of." on it.

There are jobs where if YOU don't come in, someone else has to cover for you -- and it's up to your BOSS to find that someone. It's very unpleasant to have to beg and plead with someone to come in when they weren't scheduled to be there...

However, it used to bother me SO MUCH if I called in sick and my boss wasn't even a little bit sympathetic. So when I became a boss, I made SURE I was sympathetic when someone called in sick! It made my job a lot harder, trying to find someone else to come in, but -- if you are sick, you are sick and you can't help it! Besides, you shouldn't be spreading your germs.

Your boss either is a jerk or she just HATES having to get someone to do your job while you are out. Wait -- she's STILL a jerk! If I were you, I'd call out sick (if I really WAS sick) and just let her deal with it.

And yes, I think you SHOULD talk to your boss's boss.

Well, your boss is just showing your lazy BS co-workers that there really isn't a legit reason to be sick unless your deathly ill or it's something legal. Sounds to me like you want sympathy for being a lazy as s and not wanting to go to work. A job is a job, suck it up and deal with it, tell your co-workers I said that! * I like your boss, she makes all of you sneak y weasels feel like sh1t for being full of crap, cuz thats what I smell! She knows your little games and honestly there is no reason to call off-unless the above statements apply, which I'm sure they don't.

If you are sick you are sick so call in...you cannot perform well at work if you are vomitting into the waste basket plus you will spread your germs. You are legally entitled to sick days and if your boss wants to be a martyr by coming in when not well then let her.

I think might be tempted to say something about coming to work sick and spreading germs among all the workers.

You have the right to use your sick days. So, do so, and don't let her intimidate you. And if she gets too nasty about it, you can always go over her head and complain.

Your boss doesn't have the right to treat you like this.
If your sick with something that is contagious then you could pass it on to co-workers. You'd think she would be intelligent enough to realize this.
Coercing employees to work while ill is dangerous to the health of everyone involved.
You should report her.

Then do not turn on your porch lights furniture or decorate your place. Edit: depart a small backyard sprinkler working on the path in front of the door. that must be a substantial hint to bypass away =p advance up, it incredibly is just one evening a year, and it incredibly is especially for little babies.

Maybe you could talk to your boss's boss. You have a right to use your sick days, as long as you don't use them too often.
