God and His Word are truth. But that doesn't answer the question of what is truth. There is absolute truth which is correct and right now matter anything else; for example, God, the Bible, or 2 + 2 = 4. There is also relative truth which is that sometimes it is right and other times it is incorrect. There is a condition that must be met. I know in this format it is hard to do this justice, but I hope that this helped.

The word truth is defined as that which conforms to the facts, to reality. It signifies that which is right and genuine. The source, or foundation, of truth is the Almighty Creator of the universe, Jehovah God. He knows the truth about every aspect of his creation. He knows what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is bad. He knows the truth about what has happened in the past and why, as well as the meaning of present world conditions. He also knows the truth about the future, since he already has determined what it will be.
It is logical that the God of truth would want his human creation to walk in the truth. How is this to be done? By getting an accurate knowledge of who God is and what his purposes are; then by learning what he wants us to do, and doing it. This really means that walking in the truth becomes a way of life, “The Way,” as the Bible puts it.
One reason why God wants humans to walk in the truth is that it brings glory and joy to the Creator when his human creation reflects his fine qualities. Another is that, since God made humans, he knows what is best for them. Therefore, those who follow his instructions bring the greatest benefits, even eternal benefits, to themselves and to others. An additional reason is that by walking in the truth, humans can be privileged to be associated with the people that God uses to inform truth seekers about his purposes.

Truth is the most subjective term in the Universe. Truth is entirely based upon individual perception and is different for each and every person on the planet. Your truth is always different than mine and will always be slightly different than anyone you ever meet. Truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Truth leaves a physical imprint on the world.... religions use the words truth like a used car sales man trying to get a lemon off his lot...

the world is round... that is a truth...
the catholic church proclaimed the world was flat and even killed people who claimed it was round...
the church claimed that the law of gravity was a devil's trick...
and persecuted and slandered scientist that would study it as devil worshipers...
today christians are persecuting and slandering people studying another law of nature called evolution...

what is the truth sometimes is a hard thing to know it all... but we are going to have to start with who has the habit of not telling the truth to get to the truth....

Ever hear of the saying... screw me once shame on you .. screw me twice shame on me.
