I think Johnny was probably a "Free Will Holy Anointed Serpent Handling Evangelical Baptist." Having said that, I believe that "Maybelline" was a bad one. After all, she "couldn't be true." Chuck Berry saw her "motivating over the hill" and asked her "why you do the things you do". Not sure if Maybelline was a car or a woman or both, but she was apparently a demon. In fact she was probably the inspiration for the Stephen King book about the possessed car. An atheist, for sure. Or a badly lapsed Catholic. STAR.

Maybe the name is a metaphor, like telling a person named Johnny to actually be good? Which would make him a naturally believed to be, bad person.
