i think that is the spelling anyway my friend says her dr gave it to her before back surgery like a wek before to take before the surgery--i thought it was a sedative for nerves??what all is it used for then?

It's both a sedative / tranquilizer and a muscle relaxant...most likely it was prescribed to help relax the back muscles prior to surgery.

It is also a powerful muscle relaxant. They probably wanted to make sure her muscles are not so tense when she has the surgery.
