You ask guard two "If I ask guard one which door to choose, what will he say?"

Let us say guard one is the liar and door one is the safe door.

Guard two will say "Door two". You pick door one.

Let us say guard two is the liar. He will lie and say "Door two", for the truth-teller would say door one

Either way, you choose the opposite door from what he says

You ask them, "Which door will the other person point me to?" If the person you ask is the person telling the truth, he or she will say what the liar will say, and if the person is a liar, he or she will say the opposite of the truth, which means you take the opposite of whatever the person gestures or points you to.

You can not ask them a question like "Where is the bus stop?" or "What is 1+1?" because the question doesn't specify that the truth teller is at the door to your destination.

I'd ask them both at the same time " 2+2=13, and this door leads to safety, am I correct?"

both the liar and the correct door would be flushed out in one question. I think....

take one guard by the back of the shirt and the back of the pants, and throw him right through a door, see what happens to him.
or, ask on guard which door the other guard would tell him to go though.
then take the opposite door?

Ask either one, "If I ask the other guard which door leads to safety, what will he tell me?" Then go out the opposite door. That door will lead to safety.
