The response about using Orajel is spot on. That provides a layer of film to help protect your sore spot from any further sensitivity. If the sore spot doesn't go away within 5-7 days, you will need to see your dentist or oral surgeon for a more definitive diagnosis. They may decide to take a biopsy of the area to determine what is causing the sore.

Not to cause alarm or anything, but smoking has been shown to cause oral cancer, in many different forms. This is a link to a website with further information, and has pictures to see if what you have correlates to any them.

I would say that the sore is probably not causing the sore in your mouth. Smoking tends to toughen up the tissue, not soften it. I would keep an eye out and watch it for the next few days.

You can rinse with some warm salt water to promote healing. If the lesion persists for a week or more, and if you are in significant pain, then I would contact either a dentist or physician to look at it.

It could be a cold sore, a canker sore or an oral ulcer. You can treat the pain with Orajel, it is a topical anesthetic safe for use in the mouth (you can buy it over the counter in the drug store near the toothpaste).

If the sore doesn't heal in a few days, you might need to see your healthcare professional for an antibiotic. Gargle with Listerine 3 or 4 times a day and use the Orajel.

Hope that helps.

It may just be a sore from stress or something large that you swallowed. It could also be a virus or a bug of some kind that cause sores to break out when the bodies immune system is not working properly (like cold sores) OR it could be cancer, although it is not likely it is possible. My advise is to bite the bullet and go to a doctor to get it checked out.

It sounds like a canker sore. For discomfort relief, positioned a moist tea bag on the sore for a jiffy, as in many circumstances as you like. a greater valuable therapy although, is to rinse you mouth (do no longer swallow its a laxative!) with Phillips Milk of Magnesia. If it would not advance interior the subsequent 2 or 3 days see a professional

well man..its time to stop first of all. even i used to get that.. So continued to smoke and it got worst. Whenver i stopped i was feeling better.. SO i just quit.. its been 5months since i took a cig.. believe me its the best thing ever... Also this could have lead to cancer.. if you are having pain, the best thing is stop now.. And eat ice cream a lot it will lessen the pain and it will heal quickly.. use listerine for a mouth wash evryday.. its only ten bucks
