Is there anyway to get Ranger in my contract if I have a possession charge of marijuana and paraphenalia from 3 years ago when I was 17??

My recruiter said I need secret security clearance and I cant get it because of that stupid thing I did.

Please tell me if that guy is just bullshitting me because a guy who is a Ranger said he was and to go see a different recruiter until someone can give it to me.

Ok, Ok, here is some brutal honesty. I am telling you right now. You need to find the right recruiter. You were a minor and it may be a little more leg work for him "him" the recruiter. But I will tell you NOW they (NOT ALL) but many will go to extreme lengths to get you in. I went to join straight out of high school and I had been for "shoplifting" it was fixed by a simple waiver. I wanted to go into Military Intelligence. The dude even helped me make the score I needed for the test. So NOBODY can tell me you can't get in and get Top Secret clearance I work at a Air Force base and have it. I have access to ALOT, I was called in and had to answer for it. It was as simple as "I was young and stupid sir" (That was the truth) My advise is tell the truth, let them know how bad you want it. Mike you know who I am talking about and I am sure he told you of his DUI well if you can't get it "How the hell did he?" Exactly. Push them let them know how bad you want it. They want YOU as bad as you want IN.
Good Luck

To the lippy fella "We don't need pot heads in the Army" First of all this man was "17" I suppose you never "smoked pot" as a teenager? I hardly think he is a "Pot Head" and furthermore, If the Military was as strick as this other recruiter says 80% of our military personel would be yanked out like crazy. "Think about that for a second" I am telling you KNOW I am dating someone in Ranger Regiment btw, you have to have MORE than a "Top Secret Clearance for that" And he had ALOT of explaining to do. Including a recent DUI. (BUT HE DID NOT LIE) They wanted him BAD and they sorted it out. He is also a Infantry officer he had to answer for it yes and he owned up to it and told the truth. Don't discourage this young man for wanting to be a hero. Come on. Oh I will get irritated. Be positive It WILL WORK OUT!

Rangers are Americas merely Elite Infantry unit... of direction their education is greater solid than Marines... marine education isnt even stressful. ninety% of their bootcamp isn't attempt against proper. that's why they must bypass to mct/soi afterwards. Ranger candidatess in lots of cases dont die at RIP/RASP. Ranger deaths come from education excercises and Ranger college(extremely some have died right here). Ranger college is a management college open to attempt against palms. human beings die in Ranger college. military Seals get sent to Ranger college as a punishment. All Rangers ought to bypass to, and bypass, Ranger college earlier they're allowed to grow to be an NCO. approximately ninety% of Infantry officers in the 'great' military have been by Ranger college. The seventy 5th Ranger Regiment is an Airborne unit. maximum Rangers there are squaddies. to that guy speaking approximately diverse easy infantry instruments: the only brigade in the twenty 5th that isnt easy is 2d brigade...

The recruiter has little to do with it.
You need a "Top Secret" security clearance for special operations
Background checks are handled by the FBI.....NOT the military..... when they discover you history..... you will end up serving your time in leg infantry.

Do not try to be "slick'.....be honest.....admit your crime.....request a waiver.... sometimes they will grant a waiver but the one thing they WILL NOT forgive is lying

I don't know the current regulations but you used to be able to carry a secret clearance with a juvenile conviction. I would definitely talk to another recruiter and be straight up with him.

Best of luck to you and Thank you for your future service.
