Just curious ... I remember seeing it in "The Sum of All Fears" - Clark takes out a bottle, sprays the fence, and then just pulls a section of the fence away. Does something that slick really exist?

Please don't respond with something like, "They must!" or "I'm sure they do" ... I'm looking for fact, thank you!

I just want to thank the individuals who are *so smart* that they feel it necessary to remind ME that I shouldn't ask a question, because the answer might be sensitive to our security interests.

Back off, gentlemen. I'm sure if this tech IS secret, then anyone who knows will - in accordance with DoD protocol - not answer. But thank you for the lecture, I'm sure you're plenty smart ... no need to prove it on Yahoo! Answers.

I've used liq. nitrogen extensively in the lab, and played with it quite a bit. I won't say it's impossible, but the method you describe wouldn't work as stated.

The droplets of LN would bounce off of the metal with very poor cooling effect. I can think of methods that might actually work, but are much more difficult and time consuming to complete.

That stuff is is -300 degrees F. It bounces off anything it comes in contact with that is "room temp"

When I worked at Lawrence Labs there was a guy doing desalinization projects. One of them used liquid nitrogen. The guy that filled the tank would always leave some for us to "play" with.

You screw up and spill it on your flesh you will wish you had been shot instead. The gun shot will heal.

Bolt cutters, just like at the hardware store, open fences.

I have fifteen years under a rucksack......Special Forces gets whatever tools they need to do the job.....

Do we carry a bottle of nitrogen for breaching fences..... not normally..... but if we need it; we get it
( by the way.....liquid nitrogen is not carried around in a "small bottle"...... it is not that easy)

No one who knows the answer to that is going to share it. Keeping some things "hush-hush" is what keeps them alive.

Would you want the enemy to know what our forces have or do not have, think about your question.
