Well, the more you touch pimples and prod and poke and pop them, the longer it takes for them to heal. That said, you need to make sure you're treating them properly. Cleansing no more than twice a day (any more will up oil production, which you don't want), using a toner after (NOT astringents, because they're far too drying), and then a pimple cream or lotion. Salicylic acid is always a good ingredient to look for, and steer clear of things with perfumes and dyes, because they can be irritating. Also, make sure your skin doesn't get dried out, because your skin will compensate for that by producing excessive oil.
The one thing that's worked for me is using Proactiv. Everybody is different though, and it took me years to find out what helps my skin. Also, check the ingredients in your make-up, if you use any. Talc and Bismuths (anything that starts with the word "Bismuth") are both major skin irritants. I've stopped using anything containing those ingredients and switched to mineral powder foundation instead, making sure they don't contain those to ingredients.
And if all else fails, you might want to visit a dermatologist.

I suffer from pimples too and I found that if you want to make the pimples look smaller and take away the redness (cause the treatments that make the pimples bigger so they can pop, annoy me), you should use toothpaste. Make sure the toothpaste has baking soda or else it will not work. I like to use Arm & Hammer. Ok so before you go to sleep put a dab (enough to fully cover it) on the big pimply area and let it soak in overnight. In the morning rinse off and your pimple should look smaller. Hope that helps :^)

try tea tree oil. it comes in a brown glass bottle. i have found it in the first-aid section of wal-mart before. it really helps. i use it every time i get a pimple. it helps dry it out. if you cannot find it in a store, you might have to order it from the internet. it should say 100% tea tree oil on the bottle and it is made in australia.

my son has been using pine tar soap for a lil over a month now. it has really helped clear it up. he had it really bad. huge sores on his face, back and some on his arms and chest. you can get it thru your pharmacy. it costs about $4 a bar and a bar can last 3-4 wks.

Yeah what the other person said. Do not pop them because they will spread oil. Which will cause more breakout,
