If it's repeatable in controlled, double-blind experiments, and if it opens itself up to peer review, it's a lot more likely to be true...

The truth is, no human knows what's true and what is false. That's why they seek the answer from a greater source.

But each person can only truly decide what is right for them as an individual, and not for anyone else.

I, myself, have decided what My Personal Truth is through study and observation, tests and trials, experience and deep thinking.
This is what's right for me, and only me, Since I know what is right for me is not right for everyone else.

As a group, I suppose religions do decide what is right and wrong. They also base their reasonings on study, experience, testing, etc. They each claim their source is from God...this leads to much debate and confusion.

Yet I believe that the true God will provide the answer soon enough.

Good question, you can only discover truth when you have a quest for an answer, why, when, how? from here the next step is to search for the best answers by comparing different opinions from both spoken and written- then its time for you to come to a conclusion, following this steps, you are not far-away from the truth. The wrong way is to sit and let people just tell you wot the truth is without your own research. May you discover the truth.

Many religions have common traits. People differ in the specific beliefs. Religion helps us make sense of the world. Many people reject religion all together. My own belief system says that we are on a journey to find what is true to us throughout our lives, therefore, we don't know what is true until life teaches us what to believe and what to reject.

To me this indicates that they are all wrong.

Most religions claim to have an omnipotent, or incredibly powerful god(s)

If that was true, would it not be possible for him/her/them to make it very clear that their holy text is right?

How hard would it be for Vishnu to ensure that any non-Hindu temple collapses in a heap of rubble?

How hard is it for Jehovah to zap every church and mosque with lightning until they are smoking ruins, while the synagogues remain untouched?

Why does this not happen? Because there are no gods, just us.

I know 2+2=4. I don't need faith.

2+2=4 on the moon, in the constellation Ursa Major, on Mars, in the Kuiper Belt. 2+2 is ALWAYS 4.

That is true. Science and Math are funny that way.

What makes sense to you? Faith is a personal thing. Do you look around you and see accident or God? What was the religion of your relatives? When you read about religion, what makes sense to you and feels right to you? Read, think, discuss and pray..

They don't. It's the simplist answer. Whatever you learn from birth is what you will most likely believe in. In countries where they sacrafice animals, they would think it unusual to go to church. It's just the person's lifestyle and personal religion.

That, is why I'm not Christian anymore.

Edit: With all the different religions in the world, with all different forms of higher beings, who are we to decide who is right and who is wrong?

God's Word is never wrong. Sometimes I have to do research on the roots of many words to see the context of the whole sentense and it's quite awesome.
