Many cults close all the curtains during seminars. It is a means of shutting off their members from the outside world and disorientating them.

We build our Kingdom Halls (The Quick Build) and also there are some Kingdom Halls that have windows but many choose not to because it cuts down on the cost of building materials and the heating bills. To many its distracting to look out the window when the Speaker is giving a talk. It also cuts down on the noise. It also deters crooks from breaking in and stealing. The Kingdom Hall, that I go to only has windows on both sides of the door, in my town has no windows but before we built ours, our old Hall had windows.

It depends, most halls have some windows, but some don't. The main reason is properly because we don't really need windows. We have a quick build program in which we can build a lot of halls in a short time. We can build them faster if we don't put in windows. It is also cheaper.
Plus is will be harder to for a bulgier to break in.
Like for example in the past, in my area, one of the halls kept having Bulgar's breaking in the back window and stealing the sound equipment.
Most hall's are only used just for the meetings we have, so most of the week, it is empty.
The only problem we have is if the power ever goes out, It gets exciting, especially when the kids are around. LOL

2 Good reasons:
1, It's cheap and quick to build. Jehovah's Witnesses are known to build Kingdom Halls in a few days.
2, Safety. I am one of Jehovah's witnesses and at one of the Kingdom halls I attended meetings at there were big windows. However vandals kept breaking them and throwing things at them, so they had to board them up and so now they don't have windows.

Generally, a Kingdom Hall is built without windows only in areas which tend toward hate crimes and vandalism against houses of worship. Sadly, it seems that the questioner is from such an area, and perhaps even more sad that such religious intolerance occurs worldwide.

Perhaps these anti-Witness bigots fail to understand that their vandalism and persecution actually work to help prove that Jehovah's Witnesses are true Christians.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

The Kingdom Hall that I go to does have windows, but others don't because it's cheaper to build it without windows. We are not trying to hide anything. Feel free to walk in at anytime.

The answer is because it is cheaper and quicker to build without windows in a building. The Kingdon Hall in my community was built in a weekend. They do have windows on the front doors though. So it is a little welcoming.

Many of them are built in only two or three weekends having no windows construction goes quicker and it is also more cost efficient. There are many that do have windows, but all of them are very well constructed and very well decorated.
It’s amazes me how many people show there ignorance by making such ridicules statements about things they know nothing about, basing it only on things they have herd. It’s no wonder the world is like it is. Why are we so afraid of something that appears different? When will we finally begin to reason, investigate, learn and then form our own opinions.

This question, which is based on a false assumption, is asked WAY too often.
The answer is, some do and some don't. The reasons for/against vary, but often involve cost and safety.

They do have windows. Mine and many other congregations have windows. What you have read is a stereotypical warping of the truth about Witnesses. Sadly many sites lie about our religion all the time.
Note the congregation kingdom hall being built on our official site.

Having a bunch of them in the family, I have been in several. And they most certainly DO have windows. They are usually slotted colored glass windows. I mean look at catholic cathedrals... they have glass windows that you can't see through either. But there is nothing weird going on inside. It is boring really. No speaking in tongues, no bizarre rituals. Just folks sitting for hour on end listening to praying and sermons. Really. I'm guessing the windows are small to prevent distractions like kids staring out the window and for a measure of privacy, just like other churches. Thinking about it, churches out here in the country usually paint their windows white so you can't see through.
