I'm Christian, but I agree that there was no literal "Adam and Eve". I think that most of the stories in the Bible are allegories that were spoken in parables so that people would understand the basic idea of what they were talking about. In fact, I don't believe in a lot of the mystical and outrageous claims the Bible makes. I tend to be more logical than most Christians.
Its annoying, though, that people give thumbs down to logical, intelligent, and non-offensive answers. Generally when I ask or am answering a question, even if someone gives an opinion or answer that I don't agree with, I will still give them a thumbs up as long as they answer intelligently and follow the stipulations I set in my answers. I get really tired of people putting,"Because the Bible said so, it must be true!! DUR HUR HUR!!"
I have even chosen best answers for my questions that were totally opposite of what I believe, but I respect when people are able to give their opinions in a non-aggressive manner.

It is your choice to come here but I have to say that I have been very disappointed by the number of questions and answers which are facile - perhaps it is me. And the spelling leaves a lot to be desired.
I often skip questions where I can't agree with the assumptions of the questioner. Life is too short to get involved all the time.

If you were a doctor and you discovered the cure to a terrible disease that was ravaging some isolated Amazonian tribe, and you came in and told them what was needed to heal them and save their lives - and they scoffed at you and preferred to do things their way, because after all it was just a matter of opinion and what would some stranger know better than our own witch doctors - anyways you would begin to understand the frustration of God who sent His Son from heaven to teach men the true way and how to be restored to a place of favor with God, only to be rejected and insulted and finally crucified for no other reason than that He loved men and wished for them to believe the truth, so it might be well with them, forever.

You can believe 1+1=3. But it's still 2.

I get alot of that too. I am Deist, meaning I believe in God, but not the Bible. So, I don't believe in A&E, but then again, neither does the pope anymore.

I never check to see if I get thumbs down. I expect I do but I don't thrive on it. If I do, so what. I expect people to disagree with me.

Any sane person, including the Jews who wrote the story of Adam and Eve, knows it is a fable.
Don't worry. You are not alone. Think away! It's your brain, not theirs.
