My sister did this a couple of years ago and passed it with not problems. She found it, returned it to her dentist who sterilized it and out it back where it had come from. No problems and no bad taste.

Chances are good it will pass through just fine and not cause any problems at all. It's fairly small, and will just get moved along down the line with everything else. Theres nothing you can do at this point but wait it out anyway. You can always make sure you eat plenty of leafy veg and whole grains, even a few prunes - that will move things out of danger in about two days or so, if you are like most folks. No point watching for it, the dentist isn't going to clean it up and reuse it dear, and it's a good bet you don't really want it back. Little kids eat all sorts of things, and the majority of the time is just goes through. Folks have been known to swallow strange stuff as well, rings and bracelets, and the like- and they go through fine as well. Unless you start having problems and pains in your belly, you will be fine. If you like you can certainly go see the doctor. The post will likely show up on an x-ray. And they still won't do anything unless there are problems. They will just tell you to wait and see otherwise.

Odds are that the old phrase 'this too shall pass' will apply to your missing dental work. I think the risk of bowel perforation or other issues is very low. You can assist yourself by eating fiber laden foods. If you experience any abdominal pain, get an x-ray, but other than that, it's all a waiting game.

I have not had this problem but have seen several patients who have. Some opted to "watch out" for it and others did not. The people I knew who watched for it.... found it. Make sure your dentist sterilizes it for you. If you find it... you've saved yourself about $1000. Good luck and happy hunting :)

You need to make sure that won't do some damage inside, contact your doctor to see what they say.
