I wonder if the Dems and libs of today would complain that the US is fighting with Germans when the Japanese are the people who attacked Pearl Harbor.

The US can and will do what it did back then, but it needs Americans backing them up, and politicians to stop politicizing the war for their own gain.

I recently saw a pic of a sign that was hanging in a Marine Squad Bay somewhere in Iraq.

The sign read -

"America is not at war. The US Marines are at war. America is at the mall."

There was a Marine entering a door in the back ground. It was plainly pointed grunt sentiment.

There has plainly not been enough done to spread the misery of this "democracy spreading, nation building" blood letting to the broad popuation of Americans. It is essentially an "open secret" war and an experiment in geopolitics by some unprepared architects, criminal contractors and a band of valorous military brothers who are doing the work, overworked, understaffed, and ill supported. If the fading yellow magnetic ribbons are any sign of support then support is fading for the troops. They are largely forgotten by the architects and the people that they want behind them at home.

I do not believe that a ground force is able to do what needs to be done after the shock and awe, if the ground is not flooded with replacements and re-enforcements of the combat arms. This action would be largely settled today if it was manned by a half million ground troops in the first two years of action and occupation. The prosecution of this war has been a fools game micro-managed from the top and staffed by incompetent and politically hand picked sycophants. The one man who could spark a real response to this mess is not willing to take the chance. He wishes to compare himself to Roosevelt and Truman. He is neither. He gathered the money and the contractors and disappeared into Alabama again.

This is a profoundly lame administration. The weaknesses now on display put us in more danger in the world than armaments could ever take care of.

I am a liberal in the classic sense. I think and reason. I seek answers and respond to situations as demand dictates. I believe in a strong military and a global presence. I believe that American GIs on the ground and in the ville with cigarettes and candy do more good with the affected populations of the hostile world than any of the billions spent on one screwy administration idea or another.

I believe that once an administration is in place and they have daily access to the intel, that they use that intel without modifying it for political purposes. Politics is a process to persuade an electorate. An administration is an agent of all the people and not just those who voted right, proclaim the politically correct denomination or experimental worldview.

The American people can be lead. They can also be be duped. They do not however react well when duped and driven. This President had an opportunity to be a man of real greatness. He chose to listen to the fork tailed idiots who crawled around in his suit and rubbed his tater right.

I can be lead. I will not driven. I am fearless but this crew is scaring me with its dark power and its rape of the Constitution - Which by the way I swore to protect and defend twice. I will do so again from this keyboard.

Short answer, yes. We can do what ever needs to be done when asked or lightly and kindly coerced .

Yes! That was a war of defense against our being taken over by a foreign nation, or so we thought. Then too, England & Europe were friends, we had no doubt that we would eventually have to fight Germany. When this nation pulls together, we can do mighty things, when we disagree, we accomplish little--Vietnam.

well I think just like on 911, if this country were to be attacked again, people would actually support the military again.
The technology and equipment is there to win and with the US fully supporting the fight, no question we would kick some a**

If it has the motivation, support, and reason... yes! If you are referring to the current war, however, I think all three of these necessities are missing.
