I'm going out tonight for my 21st and I've never really tried cocktails before. I've had a few that were horrid, but the place I'm going to specialises in them. What ones should I try and what should I avoid?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TASH & PLEASE... BE CAREFUL OF SHOTS, ESPECIALLY JAEGERMEISTER!!! lol

remember the axiom "beer before liquor, never been sicker. liquor before beer, in the clear." (heh, I don't know how true this is, but hey, you should know it)

Try a cosmo. vodka/cranberry juice combo. or a fuzzy navel.. orange juice with peach schnapps. or..... a white russian, kahlua/cream & vodka (but be careful, those taste like chocolate milk with a powerful kick!)

Have fun, be safe, you're loved :) enjoy!

If you have never tried cocktails you may just want to have ONE and then switch to beer for the rest of the night. You don't want to spend your 21st puking.
Try a highball instead that only has one liqour in it like rum and coke, vodka cranberry, margarita*** good stuff. Or even a lemon drop shot.
Have fun and happy birthday.

Margaritas and mojitos are my favorites, yet I actually have a sturdy point cocktail that I make at my bar it is especially yummy in case you like "desert" beverages: In a rocks glass: 3-4 count style of raspberry vodka 2-3 count style of baileys splash frangelico spash nocello splash creme de cacao or chocolate liquor fill with cream (a pair of million oz.)

Depends on if you like sweeter drinks. A really middle of the road drink is a margarita on the rocks...

If the club specializes in Martini's Chocolate Martinis are wonderful.

avoid:
fruity drinks-recipe for a visit to the porcelain goddess
martinis-if you want to drink lighter fluid with a hint of cedar tree, get therapy

here's a good choice-bourbon sour. and no, you don't need to use the high-dollar bourbon for this-maker's mark will not make it taste noticably better than, say, jim beam...and it's a terrible thing to do to a truly fine bourbon-

enjoy, but don't overdo...
