I'm 65 and have developed a philosophy about arguments and proving my point. Never argue with anyone who knows less than I do because he's neither listening to nor learning from me. Never argue with anyone who knows as much as I do because neither of us is listening to nor learning anything from the other. Never argue with someone who is more knowledgable than I am because I'm not listening to nor learning from him. So, don't argue with anyone. And never try to prove a point. Just do what you know is best. Lead by example.

Depends on what you mean by winning. Scoring in front of an audience? Convincing him that you're right?
There are no winners in a shouting match. You can't conclude a rational argument when alcohol is involved. However, a cool approach and ridicule can work wonders. GB Shaw said "I won't engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person." Think more along the lines of illuminating the shouter's foolishness than trying to force him to concede your point.

Person above makes a great point. Ppl yell when what they have to say isn't very good. So, wait for them to finish, ask, are you done now? And then talk. If they keep going on, smile, turn around and walk away. Obviously this person wanst to get you riled up and it'lll piss them off even more if you don't care.

When people yell it means they're defending themselves, they like to hear themselves talk, or they just don't want to try and see the point some other way. So, they isn't really a way to make them understand, but trust me, keep a level head adn everyone around you will realize who's just spouting off and who has some sense. Good luck!

If someone is shouting at you, I wouldn't bother trying to make a point with him. All they're interested in is their own opinion.
They're not going to listen to you. Just walk away.

I don't talk to people like that. It is not worth your trouble to make a point to that person. People like that will not care what you say, and are only making themselves look bad. Why bother with them?

When I think that they can hear me..I say to them...in a normal voice...
I am willing to talk to you when you stop yelling and speak to me in a normal tone of voice. And if they are saying things that are rude..I put in.. please talk to me with some respect and I will listen.

What you say is far more important than the volume in which you say it. People who raise their voice have already lost the argument.
