i would consider going to your parents before hand and telling them the truth..

do you cut yourself a lot? if so.. maybe you should start alternatives.. for example wearing a rubber band or hair band on your wrist all the time.. when you feel the need to cut, snap the band instead.. you could also draw read lines on your skin rather than actually cutting..

throw away the object(s) you use to cut.. get them out of the house as to avoid temptation..

it's never a good thing to cover up a problem with an excuse.. be honest.. it's the smart and adult thing to do.. and you'll be better in the end for it.. explain to them why you did it.. and consider going to therapy.. specifically cognitive behavioral therapy..

cutting is a serious condition and it can consume your mind and scar your body.. so getting the proper help is essential..

i hope this helps..

Cutting is a serious problem. You may just want some attention,or crying out for help..but it all comes down to one thing. You have a vein in your wrist, and if it gets cut open..you'll bleed to death. You need to tell someone,so they can get you good help. This isn't healthy and you don't need to apply make up or whatever else to hide it. They will eventually find out,it's just a matter of time.. whether that means you'll be dead,or they'll just see it one day when you least expect it.

Instead of trying to cover it up.... you need to tell someone. Why wouldn't you want people to be concerned for you? Cutting yourself is a cover up for something very painful to you. If there are people out there who love you.. they'll want to know. Maybe you could tell them before you go so that they know what they'll be expecting... Please get some help. Talk to someone. There is no reason for you to be doing this to your self. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here too...

Please tell them the truth. They won't be mad. They'll be shocked and surprised but they love you and want the best for you. If you can't talk to them because the cause of this is abuse or neglect from your parents please talk to a councellor ASAP. Taking either step can get free of this self-destructive behavior and the feelings that cause you to do it. You can also free yourself from feeling like you have something to hide. There is nothing like being free from hurting yourself physically to get through emotional pain or anger.
Good luck-hurt and anger are tough but you can get through it.
