I know getting drunk off of wine is so nasty (the sickest i have ever been) but what about champaign? I had some champaign tonight and it tasted great. I want something new to try in terms of getting drunk besides vodka, rum, whiskey, and beer. Should i try champaign for awhile or will i regret it right away?

I have yet to meet anyone who was ill after getting drunk on good brut Champagne... and I have been around a lot of people drinking a lot of champagne many times. If you gulp it back like there is no tomorrow then you will probably get ill, but drinking it socially all evening you would be amazed at how un-unwell you feel even the next morning.
The emphasis has to be on good brut Champagne... the higher sugar levels in the sweeter styles like demi sec will go for you slightly more (although not too bad) and other sparkling wine is a lot less forgiving... especially cheaper cavas and more or less all Asti.
Do you think folk would spend so much on good champagne if it was going to make them feel that bad??? I wouldn't.

I usually prefer to drink hard liquor but I have drank champagne twice and this stuff gets me plastered. However, please take into consideration that I was binge drinking. Anyways the first time I drank champagne I had two bottles within a 30 minute period and was blacked out for probably six hours and the second time was very similar except I was blacked out longer. The 30 minutes or so I do remember was a very happy, giggly drunk which I enjoyed and I was not sick at all or hungover in the morning. The only thing about champagne is it completely destroys my motor skills which is why I dont drink it often.

Well since it is common that carbonated beverages give you a worse hangover I think Champagne or wine. Champagne is going to be nastier the morning after.

I don't know much about champagne, seeing as I've never even drank it before, but I would recommend that if you're not familiar with it, don't go that far. Drink a little if you want, but if you really want to get drunk stick with what your used to.

Not only is the hangover from champange awful (think acidic headache and wanting to die while your tummy churns and your bones feel brittle). But the "buzz" is different. I have seen normal happy well adjusted adults have one to many mimosias or glasses of champagne and become loud, beligerent and abusive! Have one and switch to beer.

Champagnes are tricky, one of my worst nights was because of champagne. You dont get drunk you get sick....when you have too much. If you just want to sip a nice drink try a brandy or cognac....
