AQ,
Allah's opinion? It's in The AlQuran.

Before Rasulullah(pbuh) left, he had built a successful society and gained so much respect from others. They converted to be part of that successful society.

Today, you are the khalifah, responsible to spread/dakwah to as many as possible. Mission, strategy plans & tactics required prudent implementation & approach. As such, projecting good image of our society & others' opinion on Islam or our society is indeed important. (Never say, I dont care what they think of us. (Becauuse we, we represent the religion of Allah, we are successors of Rasullullah)
Each of us has to bring back the glory, and regain the 'respect' that we/Islam have long lost.

Success, affections & respect appeals others, God promise that. And He'll make enemies become our brethrens.

(As stated in Al Imram 3:103 .Please read & really understand the message)

Insyaalah..

Obaidull,

Right & 'not so right'.

Right, because we should never change Islam to fit the society. 'Not so right' because it is not necessary to change the society to fit Islam.

Islam is forever fit to any society, foever fit to any generations, forever fit to any discovery & development of science, needless to say, the religion of Allah as guided in the AlQuran fits well to each & future societies indefinitely.

Interesting point on Andalus, you need to study a little bit more to understand the real reasons behind the failure.

Guys, I really appreciate all of your good replies & arguments, very constructive.

Muhammad & B, yeah I agree with you.

The rest, please contribute. Your opinion differences are welcomed. Just like AQ & Obaidull.., I might not agree with them today, but I might change my mind & agree with them tomorrow.

Many thanks!

I totally agree with Muhammad. Just as he (a.s.) left it. Whether people dislike some parts of Islam or not, is none of our concern. It is no popularity contest which religion attracts more followers, it's about who sees the truth and who doesn't. If they hate us for the truth, let them, we don't need them, and "... Allah is sufficient as a Guardian, and Allah is sufficient as a Supporter." (4:45)

It's not for us to struggle to get public opinion in our favour, Allah's opinion is enough.

Remember His words: "And the Jews will not be pleased with thee, nor will the Christians, till thou follow their creed. Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah (Himself) is Guidance. And if thou shouldst follow their desires after the knowledge which hath come unto thee, then wouldst thou have from Allah no protecting guardian nor helper." (Al-Baqarah 120)

And regarding your question, His words are enough: "Thou wilt not find folk who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His messenger, even though they be their fathers or their sons or their brethren or their clan. As for such, He hath written faith upon their hearts and hath strengthened them with a Spirit from Him, and He will bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide. Allah is well pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him. They are Allah's party. Lo! is it not Allah's party who are the successful ?" (Al-Mujadilah 22)

------

Of course Allah's opinion is in Al-Qur'an - where else could it be??? Didn't you read the verses I sent you?

In reference to 3:103 - I don't think you understood the concept of Allah's rope (حبل الله), otherwise you wouldn't have been posting such things. Again I repeat, Islam is religion of truth, not a popularity contest. Muslim Ummah is not a bus that everyone can just hop in, but there are certain conditions, and certain qualities that every Muslim must possess. Understand that the one who divides is the one who chooses path other than that of Rasulullah s.a.w.s., and no sincere Muslim will join those who deny merits of Allah's Messenger a.s.w.s.

Try to understand why Muslims lost the glory they once held. It's because of one single reason: they have gone away from religion of Allah s.w.t.

Remember that Rasulullah s.a.w.s. never asked us nor permitted us to change his religion. Allah s.w.t. doesn't need us but we need him. We don't have to please people if they don't like Islam the way it is. Allah s.w.t. said: "There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower." (2:256)

Ask yourself are you doing something to please Allah s.w.t. or to please people? If you are striving to please Allah t.w.t., then it's surely unimportant what others think.

Read Al-Baqarah 120 once again: AND THE JEWS WILL NOT BE PLEASED WITH THEE, NOR WILL CHRISTIANS TILL THOU FOLLOW THEIR CREED.

An exciting query for definite. I see accelerated polarization among religious and now not religious, with the objectively centered mainstream religions occupying a location within the center. I suppose there's a huge develop in individuals who have woke up and the general public nature in their efforts to name for difference via serving to create larger self-attention. However, there presently exists no fair constitution to aid the ones newly mindful come to phrases with their transition. It is a elaborate approach that has chance related to it. It is smart whilst considering the fact that that self-attention is a drastically increased state of life. My possess religious situation is woke up. It is humorous to even write "woke up", when you consider that it manner little to others except they understand. It is the crisis with the state. If you have no idea, you then are not able to particularly see into the intensity, but you should still be equipped to believe anything precise. If you do understand, then no need be mentioned. Those who've woke up hold to discover each and every different and a unified voice. Each woke up character has nice vigour and a slender consciousness on humanity over any private obtain. Together, even a couple of will difference the way in which individuals will suppose.

I second MUHAMMAD and AQ.

And again I use this opportunity to invite you to embrace Islam as your religion, less you be left strayed in darkness of ignorance and misguidance. Embrace Islam to attain the salvation.

We shouldn't not change Islam to fit the society, we should change the society to fit Islam. Learn something from the fall of Umayyads and Abbasis, learn something from the fall of Andalus. Andalus was a peaceful society, kind of scientific utopia where science and arts bloomed and philosophers came up with new interpretations of Qor'an and Sunna, and they made peace with Christian kingdoms in the north. Later those Christians killed them, butchered them and expelled them.

definately not in the way they perceive it now- which is as intolerant, indifferent to women's rights, and with little or no regard to human rights.

btw many of their ''perceptions'' are, sadly, true.

Why else would the United States send people to be tortured IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES ?

btw before people start telling you that ''Prophet Muhammad would not care what they think'', that's false because Prophet Muhammad used to send special representatives to non-muslim countries to show support and call for peace and unity... and when he sent them to Christian countries, these representatives were usually Christian residents of the Islamic State !

Shiaa4life, who said anything about begging ? does my criticizm of muslim countries for doing america's dirty work (Torture) for them sound like begging to you ? weird.
