People are always complaining about police harassment, even though they are continuing to break the law and act in a suspicious manner. Aren't these people harassing the officers by forcing the officers to repeatedly detain them?

According to the Supreme Court, if an officer has a reasonable and articulable suspicion, that a crime is being committed, has been committed, or will be committed, it is his duty to stop and interrogate a subject or subjects. What these people complain about is really good police work.

Harassment is one of those words thrown around. Believe me, the police are not afraid of you thinking they are "harrassing" you. Police operate on standards that can be articulated in court. Reasonable suspicion and probable cause. No matter how much hooting and hollaring people do about "harassment", the police are able to explain in a calm, rational manner what you did or the circumstances that led them to believe a crime was being committed.

SOMEBODY sure got up on the wrong side of the bed today and is a lil cranky (eh Aran).

Yeah, well, the people who complain the MOST and loudest about police harassment are also the ones who are fastest to call the police when they need them. Funny how that works, eh?
