I've recently heard that there are about 15 groups of people that Christians should pray for according to the Bible. I'd like to know who they are. I know we should pray for our Pastor, political leaders, policemen, laborers, enemies etc.
Please include scripture references also please. Thank you.

The Word gives us guidelines as to what we are to pray for, here is a list of the one's I was able to find:

I Tim. 2:2 - For kings and all those in authority.

II Thess. 3:1,2 - For fellow believers.

I Tim. 2:1 - For all mankind.

Matt. 5:44 - For enemies and those who despise us.

Phil. 4:6 - In everything by prayer and supplication.

Ps. 51:1-4 - For cleansing from transgressions, iniquity, and sin (See: I John 1:9).

James 1:5 - For wisdom.

Ps. 19:12 - For cleansing from errors and secret faults.

Rev. 22:20 - For the coming of the Lord.

Oops, here are some more:

Using Matthew 9:37-38, John 17:11-24, and Colossians 1:9-11 as a guide, pray for:

Christ to send believers into His harvest fields (Matt. 9:38)

Christ to keep Christians in His name and character (John 17:11)

Christians to have Christ’s joy made full in themselves (John 17:13)

Christ to guard and protect believers from the evil one (John 17:15)

Christ to sanctify (set apart) believers in the truth of God (John 17:17)

Christians to be unified in one mission, purpose and spirit even as the Father and Son are one (John 17:21-22)

Christians to be where Christ is and join His work ( John 17:24).

Christians to be filled with spiritual wisdom, pleasing in all ways to Christ, strengthened spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally, and bearing fruit in every good work (Col. 1:10-11).

How to Pray for Unbelievers:

Evangelistic praying should include prayer for personal spiritual needs, evangelism events, believers and unbelievers. Prayer on behalf of lost people is clearly mandated by Christ in Matthew 6:9-10. The Apostle Paul models and exhorts believers concerning prayer for the lost (see Rom.10:1-2; I Tim. 2:1-4). Below is an acrostic that can be used to pray biblically and effectively for those that are lost.

Pray for their HEARTS to be changed.

Pray for Receptive and Repentant Hearts (Luke 8:5-12)

Pray for their spiritual Eyes and Ears to be opened to the truth of Christ (2 Cor. 4:3-4; Matt. 13:15).

Pray for them to have God’s Attitude toward sin (John 16:8).

Pray for the person to be Released to believe (2 Cor. 10:3-4; 2 Tim 2:25-26)

Pray for a Transforming life (Rom. 12:1-2).

Pray for God to Send them into his harvest field (Matt 9:35-38).

If even says to pray for our enemies... We are to love and pray for everyone. Get a bible commentary. Scofields or Strong's. You can find any scripture with one word....
We are to even pray without ceasing. The bible is written for those with some intelligence. If it says without ceasing, it means to have a ready prayer within your heart all the time.

Ephesions 6:18-20 says that we need to pray for all saints and the men of God. I'm at work right now and can't dig up a whole lot of references, I'm sorry for that. I know other groups include family, political rulers, the ones who hurt us, those who watch over us spiritualy, and family. Some things we are to pray for are Holy Spirit power, influence, filling of the Holy Ghost, peace of Jerusalem, wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.

I think they should pray for a bible that doesn't need defending so vehemently. Even they must be frustrated by its inaccuracies and contradictions. Gees, is that rag the best that God could do?

who shouldn't the Christians pray for???

if you had a telephone in link to the God of the universe, and through the power of your faith in His son were able to give life to the dead and dying, wouldn't you use it whenever you could?

that is what prayer is. therefor in this sick and twisted world... who doesn't need prayer? don't you yourself need prayer? pray for all things, and everything as often as you think about it.
