It depends on a number of things: for example, whether the person knows me and what's going on well enough to offer an informed opinion. My sister-in-law is famous for offering 'constructive criticism' when she hasn't got a clue about what I'm actually doing.

And I prefer constructive criticism when I'm prepared for it, not when it's sprung on me from out of nowhere. I hate it when I have no warning before the topic of discussion shifts to something that I may be sensitive about.

As any woman over the age of 50 (and those around them) could tell you, offering 'constructive criticism' to a menopausal female is a dicey business at best. On a good day, we may accept it with a smile. On a bad day (which is roughly 99.99 out of every 100 days), that same constructive criticism could be grounds for ax-murdering the person offering it!

I'd go along with all of those. If it's "forced down my throat", I'll still try to evaluate it objectively, but the resentment is definitely there.

Eh, it always stings a little. I have a little smile on my face because I know I don't want to be that person who can't take criticism, but honestly, who likes to be told there's something negative about them or what they're doing? No one! That doesn't mean I lash out at the person giving it or don't take it into consideration, but I sure don't ever like it :)

I like the way you put it, as well. Seems a bit like me, too.

I am so sensitive and my self esteem is low, so constructive criticism is difficult for me to handle. But if it helps me to be a better person, then I do appreciate it.

the outcomes of "useful" are many. i will cope with an smart individual making a calculated grievance of me in the event that they have some genuine perception into the situation. yet to have some moron chastise me or criticize the way I stay or the flaws i %, properly that merely pisses me off... you will choose an extra straightforward time managing grievance in case you think approximately the source extra...

The question is, can constructive criticism handle me?

Same here, if it is presented in a polite way, then I will take it in the spirit that it was given.

Always and everywhere.
