I've had a love of tattoos from the age of 12, i'm now 24. When i was younger i used to think the age limit should be alot younger. Now if i'm honest i think you shouldn't be able to get at tattoo until your 21.

21 is a good age, you have a better understanding of the person you are. When your younger your still finding yourself and will more than likely get a tattoo you'll regret when you get older. Also your body is still changing. You could get a tattoo at a young age then when your fully matured the tattoo will look a mess.

Even if someone is covered in tattoos you can always tell their first tattoo.

It was my 15th birthday when I got my first. I don't regret it or anything but if I knew then what I know now I would of waited. So to answer the question at least 21. My son wishes I didn't have any it can be embarrassing for a child. Of course I also think that we shouldn't be able to marry until we are at least 25. I got married when I was 20 I do regret that. As for children 25 I had my son when I was 21 no regrets I just wish I had the knowledge I have now back then.

When your responsible enough to make the best decision for you. After taking a long while to think about it and realize its something your going to have on your body for life, and will it interfer with your career later in life? will you want it when your 80 and your skin is wrinkled? I'm 20 and got 3 tattoos got two of them when i was 16 and one when i was 19. Don't regret any of them either.

18 is good because at a younger age someone may just want to rebel against their parents or do it for a fad. But it also depends on the maturity level of the person.

Definitely not 15 or 16.

18. No ifs, ands or buts. It's something people need to take seriously and be responsible for. I know a lot of people (including myself) that say that they are glad they did not get a tattoo underage because what they wanted then is hardly what they would want now.

i got my first one when i was 15.
i'm now 16, with 2 more. (3 in all)
i'm going for another one in about 2 weeks.
i think it should really depend on how responsible and mature you are.
but i can get all the tattoo's i want with parent consent. ;)

Id have to agree with 21. Im 17 myself and as much as I cant wait to turn 18 and get my first one. I see so many kids at my school showing off their lame tats that they just pick off the walls.

Old enough to spell Tattoo... that's why the age is 18

18, 16 with parental consent or present during inking.

i think the legal age of 18 is good. if anything it should go up not down. you have to be mature enough to make a good decision about what ur getting. if they lowered it there would probably be a bunch of girls running around with guys names that they dated for 2 weeks, then broke up with.
