don't spend your money helping the child to read until they try starfall and you may find I think that they will get more from that than hooked on phonics for at least the first few years. this program has also been used to teach illiterate adults to read as well as preschoolars so try it first and you may never have to buy hooked on phonics. Good Luck to you!!

Actually hooked on phonics is great for kindergarten kid. I bought it for my daughter the Math and English. It goes up to 12 years old. Try www.hookedonphonics.com. Good luck.
