Yes, mostly.
Santa Claus is commonly associated with St. Nicholas of Myra, in Lycia, in Asia Minor (now Turkey), a fourth century bishop in the Catholic Church.
The most famous association is Clement Moore's poem, 'A Visit from St. Nicholas,' more commonly known as 'Twas the Night before Christmas!'
St. Nicholas is the patron saint of children.
One of the most famous stories associated with him is of a poor man in his church who had three daughters but no money for dowries. When the one was ready to marry, St. Nicholas put enough of his own money for her dowry in a sack and, in the middle of the night, tossed it into the home of the man. Then, as each of the other daughters came of age, he did it again.
Today, in some cultures, on December 6th, St. Nicholas leaves a bag of goodies on the doorstep; usually nuts & candies!

With love in Christ.

Yes, almost all people of America have Santa. Because he is not associated with any religion. Christian parents (and every other parent) use the naughty nice thing to bribe children into behaving.
Santa is an extremely old tradition dating back to way before Christmas was celibrated and ther actually was a guy in red who rode a reindeer sleigh, throwing yule presents to the children.

When I have kids, well if I ever do, I am NOT going to tell them about Santa. In fact I am going to tell them the truth that it is a pagan holiday but some people celebrate Jesus bday then but it wasnt when Jesus was born.
Basically no lies from the start.
Yes I am a Christian. I say this to those who will read this and think that I am not a Christian cause no Christian knows this.

I am a real Christian and my kids were told about Santa. However, it always bothered me .... a lot. When it comes up, I always say that Santa loves God and is being an example of how we should give to others. I always make Christmas about Jesus and Santa is an after thought. Still..... It bothers me. I'll be interested in reading the posts.

Some do some dont. Christadelphians by large do not celebrate Christmas or santa. I was bought up catholic, and went to catholic schools, and we always had secret snata (kris kringle- swapping presents) made santa arts crafts, all that sort of thing.
Whats wrong with letting kids have a little magic in their lives, with how many awful relaities there are in the world.

I was raised United Methodist, and my parents definitely told me there was a Santa. I'll also add that my mother is a very devout United Methodist, on about every committee you can think of, and is a retired church secretary of 20 years. So she's about as typical a Christian as you can get.

Come to think of it, no I really don't think so. In fact it would be a strong Christan who would definitely not tell tell their kids about Santa. I think that seculars do that the most. I was never told that Santa was real.

Yep. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school, and we learned all about Santa. My husband is Methodist and also was raised knowing all about Santa. Now that I have a child and I'm Wiccan, she will definitely know about Santa and how the Christian stole his story from us pagans.

A real chrisitan never tells that there is a Santa. Because he knows what is in Bible and Believes in Bible.
A nominal / traditional christian ll tell that there is Santa, Christamas Tree, etc because he doesnt know what is in Bible even though he believes in Bible with the knowledge of his Pastor but not with his own.
