If the camera is no longer in warranty, you might want to try some of these fixes, especially if the lens is not closing. I know it says these are for Canon, but they also sometimes work on other cameras:

If they don't work, time for a new camera.

Most cameras can not tolerate being dropped, especially if the lens is out at the time. It sounds like you have caused a lens error. There really is no point in trying to have it fixed because it's a budget camera (less than $120) and it would be much cheaper to just buy a new camera...

IF you still have your receipt take it back to the place of purchase and see if you can send it off for repair. You may need to pay some charges but it will be better to get it repaired by an authorised repair agent.
Also ringing the Customer Support Hot line for Polaroid may also give you some good advise.
Since you dropped it the warranty will most likely be voided but if there is no scratches or anything bad on it don't tell them that, and that may help you out.

Its dead. Gravity and water are the leading killers of digital cameras. Use it as a paperweight because repairs will cost more than its worth.

Enjoy shopping for your new camera. Get a wrist strap or neck strap for the new one and that should prevent dropping it.
