I used H&R Blocks software "Taxcut" to do my 2005 and 2006 taxes. I was wanting to know because they said you have to have your taxes done by H&R Block to get the $500 line of credit.

According to their website, you must have completed and filed your 2005, or 2006 tax return in an H&R Block tax office.

To get Block's LOC you have to have had your return prepred in one of their offices for the past 2 years at least. The LOC is unrelated to filing your return for this year but you do need to be a "regular" customer to get it.

I'm pretty sure it's just if you actually had them do your taxes, not if you just used their software. But you could call them and ask.
