No language is ugly, all are capable of expressing the most beautiful and amazing ideas. No-one can listen to Die Zauberflöte and call German ugly. French is a wonderful language and so musical. Persian is said to be the most beautiful language in the world but with more than 4500 languages, no-one can know for sure. The people who speak the different languages would certainly not regard them as ugly, and neither do I.

RE:
What is the ugliest language?
I vote German, definitely. And French, French has these AWFUL things called 'Nasalized vowels" in almost every word and French makes you sound like you have a serious nose disease. German makes you sound... evil, or like you're speaking the language of Mordor, which Gandalf refused to...

To be fair, English has nasalized vowels, too!
Some studies indicate that people's perception of a language's ugliness/prettiness (as well as it's highness/lowness in terms of social class) is closely tied to how they perceive the society that speaks it. It's also related to the subject matter that's being discussed. Are they talking about flowers? war? etc.
One essay in "Language Myths" by Bauer and Trudgill deals with this exact question. Unfortunately, I read the book a while ago so I can't bring up any examples. It's an interesting read, though, and requires no prior linguistic knowledge.
All this being said, my opinion of German as a beautiful language was sealed when I saw Beethoven's Fidelio.

- French, ugly given how guttural it is, it truly sounds gay.
- Portuguese, it sounds like a butchered Spanish being spoken by a deaf person with a full mouth and a stuffed note (Spanish being a much more elegant and cleaner sounding language, like Italian).
- Arab, also guttural and also ugly.
- Hindu, sounds sort of foolish and a little annoying but not ugly per say.
- Dutch, sounds like utter crap.
- CHINESE, the king and champion of ugly languages. It that takes ably to heights where it does not have any competition. It doesn't even have words composed of sylabells but rather cat sounds differentiated by different intonation. It's truly the ugliest sounding to me. More so, it's character structure is beyond inefficient and ridiculous.

There is no "ugly" language. There all unique and if you understood what they're saying, if you spoke that, you wouldn't think it's ugly, would you.
And I bet Germans and French and many people might think English is ugly, but of course we dont because we speak it.
