It is wonderful to have all of our senses working to maximum capability, as it does help us to really see and hear the hugness of God, as far as things He has made, etc. To touch the things He has made makes them so real. To smell the wonderful flowers HE has made, oh what joy. and to hear of God, is wonderful.
But in saying all of that, there are ppl who cant see or hear and they have find God. SOme even have lost their sense of small or taste, a huge factor in getting older and in some illnesses, BUT, even in that, one would have to have some of the senses to hear from God. Yes, He speaks to us thru our Spirits, connected to the Holy Spirit. Absolutely.
But somone usually must tell us about God, not always.. Go to the villages where there are only a few with no Bible and they still know. So much of this is about having a conscious mind that God can speak to thru your Spirit.
YEt each sense helps so much to appreciate the fine things of God.
Even as lets say with Helen Keller, she couldnt hear or see,
but thru the sense of touch, taste , smell, and with the conscious mind that would hear froM Gods Spirit, she did find God. The more we have, the more we can enjoy all God does for us. But, God is a God of such love, and He will find a way to get thru to us, if are ready to receive and have the interest. Tho even with all of your senses intact, if you dont want to know God, you never will, till upon your death or when Jesus comes.
Becasue God says one day all will bow and call Him Lord. Even the mountains will bow. But, for many it will come too late.
It has to be before Jesus comes again, or before you die.
Its all precious choice.
I think this is an awesome question, and I pray it makes more think of all that God has given to us. Celebrate Jesus Celebrate.
As we celebrate His b/day soon, may we remember to celebrate also His life, death, and resurrection, for therein lie OUR BLESSED HOPE>
Great question. God bless you again and again.

I would say the God is unknowable to the five senses. He is not of the physical world and so cannot be perceived by the five physical senses. The only requirement for knowing God is posessing a spirit since that is the only level on which we CAN know God. One needn't even have a body to know God, only a spirit.

You can learn to know God through the senses but certainly having all five are not needed. What is needed is wanting to know God and to work to know God. I have met very disabled people who are closer to God than those who have an easier life and with all the senses intact and able to walk, etc. It's the desire and willingness to try hard and love God and others that is more important than seeing or hearing.

No, but I think the five senses represent the Five - fold ministry, i.e., Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Teacher and Pastor. In this sense, we do need the five senses, of the "Body of Christ" or the True Church.
They also represent the Hand of God, which reaches out to mankind, through these offices.

The five senses, as in, touch, taste, smell, hear and see!
Of course someone could still know God, to know God is a spiritual sense. You can't touch, taste, smell, hear or see him in a physical sense. So if one is lacking any of these senses they can still know God!

Absolutely not. We've had deaf ones, blind ones, illiterates etc. in our congregations world wide. We have Bibles and literature printed in braile especially for blind individuals. We've taught people how to read who were illiterate so we could study the Bible with them and share the good news of God's Kingdom.

You have to have some way of communicating to be told about God. After you are told it only takes believing in God to know him.

That would be a pretty limited god if so.
I would imagine all that would be needed is a concious mind and a soul.
