Try a simple diet and a fitness plan. Eat 1200-1300 calories a day, no less. You could possibly loose 10 pounds a month that way! To avoid overeating, wait a while between meals. It takes long for full-ness signals to reach your brain.
You need to exercise to tone up your body. Try sit ups! You need to start out with 100 each day. Be confident! Over time, you'll be able to do even more! Cardio(running) is always good too! If you walk 25 minuyes, you would burn around 95 calories! If you need any more advice from me, I allow ims and emails. Good luck!

EDIT: Did someone come by and give everybody thumbs-down? Well, I went ahead and gave most a thumbs-up because they answered the question and wanted to help you.

P.S. No, you are not fat in my opinion. I'm 11, by the way. You wanted to know how to loose weight safely, and I answered that.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

First, you're 12 years old. By 13 or 14 all that "fat" could be gone to muscle. You're about to hit puberty and your body is going to change. Lots. Second, join some sports groups. Soccer, football, any martial arts is fantastic. Plus, martial arts will give you the benefit of a healthy body image which I'm sensing you could use. That and martial arts are just really cool. Keep active. Third, eat sensibly. Avoid fast food joints and junk food. You seem intelligent enough to know what they are. Raw vegtables are better than cooked and fruit make a great snack. Eat three healthy meals a day, don't skimp and be sure to eat healthy snacks in between. Tell your parents that you want to change your eating patterns and ask your mom to buy healthy snacks when she goes grocery shopping. Also, ask your mom to take you to the doctor to find out what a healthy weight for you is and the best way to get there. It may be that there may be a thyroid problem that needs to be examined or some other health issue. Good luck and remember to be sensible. Be sure to keep your parents informed about what you're doing.

Hollistergirl is either an anorexic dolt, or just someone with too much time. Honestly, 120 lbs. is the average weight for someone who is 5'4''. That is the healthy weight you should weigh at that height. If you are only 12, you are going to grow a few inches, so dont worry about it. Get used to having your body , and learn to love it. You will most likely grow into your weight, if you are uncomfortable. I am the same height as you, and 105, and its uncomfortable to be this low. My spine sticks out and i generally feel like i could gain a few lbs. Plus, my butt hurts all the time, and i get made fun of for being THIN. Its no different than feeling large.

If body-positive thoughts wont help you, then you can try exercising and eating more healthy. Just remember you have this body for the rest of your life.

At age 12 you should not concern yourself at all with your weight, counting calories, etc. As others have said, try to eat healthily, eat a wide variety of foods, and most importantly be active. Walk quickly for half an hour a day. Don't radically change your diet but if you can cut out a little sugar (soda, cookies, candies, whatever) that can be a big help. Anyone who calls you names is rotten inside, and no diet or exercise can change that. Be proud of who you are.

Your problem is not your physical appearance. It's your MENTAL appearance. You have been programmed by TV to look 90 pounds when in fact, it is NOT healthy.

At the rate your going, your doing very well. I must assume you're a female because a male wouldn't want to be 109!

Just keep eating HEALTHY (5 times a day, at your age) and exercising for no more than 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY. You will be a very healthy male or female.

Most of us males, whether white, black, latino, asian enjoy healthy looking women...so don't give into the media's appearance of "beauty".

cut out the meat products. just eat seafood. shrimp, tuna, etc. don't drink soda. cut out the chips, fries, cookies, and cakes. do 50 sit ups a morning. also stop drinking soda. try green tea or lemonade. drink 8 glasses of water. don't go to fast food resturants. if you eat fast food eat at wendy's get a salad or get a tuna sub with tons of veges at subway. that should help a lot. stick to fruits and veges.

Your height and weight seem proportional to me. You are NOT fat or overweight. If you're really worried then talk to your doctor and follow his suggestions. People calling you names, I know it can be hard to ignore them but there's not much you can do about them...
