this cooking thing is kinda new to me. i just moved out of my parents house and i need to cook?

Shame on you if you didn't learn how to make your own toast and cold cereal while living at your parents!

Now, if what you really mean is you don't have a toaster, then broil the bread on both sides carefully - use pot holders. And for hot cereal, most containers have the instructions. I made cream of wheat this morning and it was 3 Tbs. of cereal added into 1 cup water. Then microwave for 1 minute, stir and repeat.

put a piece of bread in a toaster and shut off the toaster when you think the bread is done.

pour cereal in a bowl and pur milk until you can just see some of it at the cereal level.

DANGER! Don't try it. Have breakfast at IHOP or Denny's. Then go home and learn to boil water. After you've mastered that you can try toast and cereal.

that's not even cooking though.
that's throwing bread in a machine and waiting until it pops..
and pouring milk into a bowl

get a cookbook... put bread in the toaster and poor your cereal in a bowl and add milk.
