Im 16 years old, im about 5'7 140 lbs, I lift weights, I do push ups, I do sit ups, I shadow box, and I do cardio pretty much 6 days a week. Is there anything I can do NOW to improve my self in the future when I become a marine?Im planning on taking my GED will that lower my chances in anyway? I just really feel my school is holding me back because its a really bad school known for gang violence. Any ideas what I should do and learn now while I still have the time? any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

My husband is a recruiter for the marine corps. it sounds like you have the physical part down. Try working with Basic Algebra and English Comprehension to boost your ASVAB score because this will help you get a better job in the Marines.

You are on the right path BUT to start a bit more training do a 3-6 mile run everyday! My uncle is a master sargent and let me tell you he said before he joined he ran every morning..!!! YEP! Cardio is not enough if you want this job that bad :)

Try to make sure to graduate from school any way you can with that diploma in hand. Here is a very good site with detailed information about getting into the marines with only a GED:

Your dong pretty good so far, just contact a recruiter when you are serious about joining. Learn about the job you want beforehand tho.
