Someone who believes both the idea of a creator (a creator who ditched/ignores us.) and the idea of no creator hold enough ground that one cannot be concluded? Or is it someone who believes that you can't 100% conclude there is no creator yet of course believes there is no god anyways since it is such a longshot?

I would think that the first point is agnosticism and the second atheism. Atheists should know that we can't 100% prove there is no God just the same as the fact we can't 100% prove there isnt a large purple siamese feline that controls the earth.

I lose some respect for agnostics if this is right. There is not strong evidence for non-fundie (and of course fundie :P) creationism.

Haha, i just made a new hypothesis! The sun will die once we dump cheese on it!

Agnostic: Hmmm, I cannot find evidence for or against this. I can't really say what I believe.

Atheist: Hahaha, what? I can't 100% disprove that, but it is a long shot and no one has any reason to believe it!

The term "atheist" has been in English for hundreds of years. It means someone who has no belief in the existence of gods. Thomas Huxley, a 19th century atheist, invented the term "agnostic" to describe a subset of atheists who qualify their atheism by saying that it is impossible to know whether gods exist or not.

Agnostics are still atheists as they have no belief in gods. If they do believe in gods they are neither atheist nor agnostic. It is fashionable to use the term "agnostic" as though you were having a bet each way on the existence of gods but that is not what it means.

No one is asking us to idolize a purple siamese cat.

Agnostic:

"a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god"

No, an agnostic is someone who believes that god can't be 100% proven. But it can't be 100% disapproved.

It was so much simpler when a Theist believed, an Atheist didn't and an Agnostic wasn't sure.

You have a ridiculously limited understanding of god. You speak about one or two religions you may know superficially. Have some abandonment issues do you?
