I need to loose more than previously expected. I am 5'2 and weigh 170. I want to loose about 40-50 pounds and get down to 120-130.

What I have done for a few weeks off and on is go 2 miles a day (35-40 min.) 4-5 days a week. I really want to keep this routine up, as it fits into my schedule well and isn't too hard on me, not to say it doesn't kick my butt.

Is this a good exercise plan? I plan to run more and more as I work my way up.

Any tips?

Oh, and I don't want to do it on and off. I want to do it every week. I had to stop due to an illness that kept me under the weather.

for optimum health 60 minutes daily is best and you also need to perform several sessions of a moderate to high intensity form of cardio. so as you increase your cardiovascular endurance, etc. adding in more running is the way to do it. good job!
