I've had dreams about my unborn baby and they seem so real. My husban has had dreams of our baby too. What does this mean?

I believe that dreams have a great deal of meaning and that dreaming of your baby when you are pregnant is very significant. There was somebody who posted a question on here not long ago who dreamed of her babies when she was pregnant all 3 times and they all turned out to look just like she saw them. I think you are so in tune with your baby that you dream of him/her-it very natural. If it is a bad dream I think that only reflects some anxiety you are having about the birth and pregnancy, so don't worry about that.

There are a lot of dream interpretation books out there, but I watched an entire special on television about how dreams don't actually mean anything. You usually have a dream that involves what you were thinking about right before you went to bed. And then noises you hear throughout the night can trigger certain storylines for dreams, as well.

Dreams are pieces of problem solving activity woven together in an interesting but non-sensical way. When we store items in our brain we automatically create levels of storage and a kind of "cognitive closure" with each stored item. Your brain does this automatically dependent upon the salience of the idea or cognition and level of emotion and focus at the time of storage. At night the electrical activity of the brain "cherry picks" components of these stored items and weaves them into a sequence we recognize as a dream. This is on a subconscious level. The fact that your unborn baby occupies much of your waking thought, worrying and planning creates a great deal of salience for that topic and you can expect to have this embedded in to many of your future dreams.

Dreams are a combination of: 1 part the thoughts that were most recently running through your head, 1 part memories, 1 part imagination.

I don't think they really mean anything. If they do, based on my dream last night, my friend and I will engage in an epic battle versus three 12 year old kids. We apparently fight using fishing poles. Well, atleast it'd be a conversation topic.

Dreams often reflect your daily thoughts so it would be only natural to dream about the unborn baby.

Dreams usually are the last thing you had on your mind, and are something that you've been thinking about a lot thats maybe unresolved, or just really exciting or important. It sounds like your anxious to have your baby, thus you dream about him/her a lot.

There are 2 states of the human, concussions (forgot how to spell it) and sub conscious.

When you enter a subconsicous state, you are proably inhaling more then when you are awake. It may or may not mean anything, and it accutaly may mean something of the past, maybe even your anchestors's life and dreams. (This happens.) going as far back to the cave man days.

From my experience, it means nothing, you can dream of anything at anytime, though it could just be from you thinking about your baby alot. I wouldnt worry about it, from my standpoint, its just a dream so leave it for the imaginary thing that it is.

maybe you're so focussed on your unborn baby that you're even dreaming of it.

jung thought dreams meant something about the collective unconcious, freud thought they meant something about repressed desires, in some cultures (india, ghana) dreams just before you wake up are supposed to mean something real...
question is, does it mean anything to you?
