Then buy hair repair shampoo/conditioner.
Use a deep conditioner once a week.
Be sure no hair products have alcohol [ check gel, spray ].
Blot hair dry with a towel, then air dry. [ wet hair is fragile - never rub or brush it! ]
Comb out all tangles with a wide tooth comb.
Eat a quality diet - including vitamins with minerals.
Drink about 1/2 gallon of water a day.

Hey i'm sorry about that! The only thing you can do to get rid of split ends is cut them off. A stylist can help you with the layers and to prevent it next time, get a really good conditioner, try a hair and scalp conditioning treatment once a week, and try to cut down on curling and straightening. They will fry your hair. But if you can't live without your straightener and curling iron, use something to protect your hair from the heat! Good Luck!

Trim it every 4-6 weeks. This does not mean take an inch off or anything. Just have it trimed about a centimeter. That way the split end dont grow up, and cause frizzy hair.

Sorry hon but if you dont trim your ends off every month or so the splits will travel up your hair shaft and make your hair break further up - making it look shorter. The best thing you can do if you want to grow long hair is to cut it all one length now, and trim it regularly every month or so from now on.

I have long, layered hair and I have split ends too! You should trim your hair every month (especially if you brush your hair a lot, use a straightener or blowdry your hair.)

If you want to grow it out, then don't cut so much off. When they say trimming it helps(which it does) they mean like 1/4 or 1/2 inch.

you'll have to get the damaged hair cut off. get trims on a regular basis and try not to blow dry, flat iron, perm, or color your hair to keep it healthy
