I'm a creationist. And a Fundie. If evolution were proved to me, I would stop believing in the God of the Bible.
I do not think that evolution is an atheistic idea though. I believe it is an idea of Satan's, which he planted. Some of the people who believe it are atheists, but they don't own it.
If evolution is true, then the book of Genesis is a lie - not misinterpreted, just a lie. By itself, that would be enough to end any logical trust of the rest of scripture. But even if you can somehow believe that you can reconcile evolution with Genesis 1, there is still perhaps a bigger problem. Jesus came here to be the "cure" for all of us infected with the "disease" passed down by Adam. If evolution is true, then there was never an Adam. If there was never an Adam, then why do we need Jesus?
Prove evolution to me, and yes, I will have to go find a new God.

That's no different than saying, if it were proved 100% accurate that life exists here because aliens inhabited the earth for gazillions of years and shot off into space but left little bio engineered capsules that would open at a given time and thereby populate the earth...etc etc...
Hypothetical questions are just that...a hypothesis..the beginning of a theory...and if that theory languishes as long as the theory of evolution of the species, it simply becomes a failed theory...
We cannot prove anything with 100% certainty. We can say that 1+1 = 2, but even this is not 100% accurate.
sometimes 1+1 = a greater 1, 2 drops of water in the palm of the hand will be 1 larger drop.
A thing is the sum of all it's parts...look at congress, it takes 600 people to make 1 congress.
There is always something we do not know. I cannot think of anything that we know "everything" about can you?
Take Care and God Bless.

I don't think facts and science are atheistic, even when they are contrary to the Bible. They should be a separate from religious discussions. Science should not be seen as the opposite of faith. Evolution shouldn't be an atheist doctrine.
In answer to your question, no. I think God and evolution can co-exist.

religion has survived a round, moving world, dinosuar bones (upon being accepted used as an argument against evolution) and many other things. I am not religious and so cannot answer your question properly, but with the evidence of history i doubt such proof would shake the faith of all to many.

Evolution has been proven. What effect has that had on the fundies? It has caused them to make up some new rationalizations, conjure up new interpretations of what the bible says, and create new terms for their own use (microevolution).

Evolution doesn't set out to disprove the existence of God. Creationists, however, have set out to disprove evolution, despite the mountain of evidence in support of it. Just who is out to get who, I wonder?

Philosophy of naturalism+ humanism= atheism. It's really quite a simple fact. Questions? Consult the Humanist Manifesto 1,2, or 3.
